30th Annual Teacher and Staff Appreciation Dinner

Denning Hall

Friday, May 4th,  2018

Cocktails/Social 5:45PM

Seating for Dinner begins at 6:45PM

In 1989, a dedicated group of concerned parents gathered to discuss how they could best support the teachers and staff of St. Paul’s School, and after several meetings formed the Future Club.  The Club’s mission was simple:  “To plan and provide for the long-term financial well-being of St. Paul’s School teachers and staff.

After nearly 30 years of successful dinners, fundraisers, and membership drives, The Future Club’s mission remains unchanged, and over this time the Future Club has been able to provide consistent financial support, primarily through contributions to the teachers and staff retirements. Presently our goal is to build the The Future Fund Endowment so we are able to sustainably support the financial well-being of St. Paul School’s teacher and staff well into the future.

Please join us at this year’s “Back to the Future Club” teacher and staff appreciation dinner where we will celebrate 30 years of fellowship, generosity, and catholic education. We will honor and show appreciation for all that the teachers and staff have done and continue to do for our children, all while enjoying a fine dining experience of the highest quality.

Please RSVP to Leigh Thompson in the school office at 563-322-2923 or

St. Paul the Apostle invites you to "INVEST in your marriage" with a special 12-month marriage enrichment opportunity.  Over the next year, we are asking couples to meet with a small group once a month.  Groups will consist of 4-6 couples each.  Sessions will be designed to last 60-90 minutes each with an optional retreat weekend available in the middle.   You will spend time with other “companion couples” to help each other in the journey.  Each gathering is followed with concrete assignments to engage with your spouse between meetings.  These exercises will challenge you to step outside your comfort zone and put your marriage first.  Groups will begin meeting in May and the program will culminate with a renewal of vows as we celebrate Easter next April.

Visit today and sign up by April 29 to be included in a group.

All families interested in learning about everything AHS has to offer are encouraged to attend the

Hello parishioners and parents of children of St Paul the Apostle. There is a group of parents who are starting a fundraiser to help the Gorsh family. As you may know, Stephanie Gorsh has been diagnosed with Small bowel Adenocarcioma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy in Iowa City. She has just begun round two (of three rounds), and will be having a serious surgery after completing round three to rid her of any remaining cancer.

Stephanie and Jordan currently have two children at St Pauls, Carter 2A and Stella KB. Next year their youngest Emery will start 4-year-old preschool. Many of you have asked what you can do to help support this family though this difficult time, so a fund has been set up through the church office, that will be used for their children’s tuition next year. If you would like to donate, please mail or drop off your donation to the church office at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church c/o Rose Strickland. Tell them it is to go towards the Gorsh family tuition.

Thank you So much for your support! It will be greatly appreciated by the Gorsh family. It will lessen yet one more burden for this family as they go through this extremely difficult time.

Please keep Stephanie, Jordan, Carter, Stella & Emery Gorsh in your prayers.

National Speaker:  Silent Strength (April 26th and 27th) – All are welcome!

National speaker Doug Reavis will share his Silent Strength presentation with Assumption students on Thursday, April 26th, from 12:30-2:00 in the Assumption Auditorium.

A parent presentation will be held that same evening from 6:30-8, also in the AHS auditorium. Please encourage any members of the Assumption Family and beyond to benefit from this powerful, and personal story of faith.  The Silent Strength message centers on kindness and, in faith-based settings, seeing God in every other person. It has been said that Mr. Reavis gives the best anti-bullying message out there without ever using the word “bullying.”

Assumption is excited to host all 6th-8th grade students from the Catholic elementary schools for a middle school presentation on Friday, April 27th, from 12:45-2:15.  Please mark your calendars to attend this great parent opportunity, and invite a friend (or several) to join you!  We can all benefit from the inspiration this presentation has to share.

Please see attached flyers for AHS girls and boys summer basketball camps.
