2A's Weekly Specials Schedule

Our schedule this year is different than last year, so far it is working well and the kids are adjusting.
 
LUNCH is from 12-12:30 M, T, Th, F
                         11:30-12 Wednesday
RECESS is from 12:30-1 M, T, Th, F
                            12-12:30 Wednesday
 
Mondays: Music 9-9:30, Art 9:30-10
Tuesday: PE 9:20-9:50, Spanish 11:35-11:55
Wednesday: Mass 8:30-9:15, Music 9:30-10, Art 10-10:30, Library 10:30-11, every other week guidance 1:30
Thursday: PE 9:20-9:50
Friday: Mass 9:30, PE/Art 2:30-3 (switches every other week)

Spelling Words

Tonight your child should have brought home a spelling list of 12 words. I wrote the words on the board and the kids copied them onto their paper. It was not a pre-test.
Put these on your refrigerator, or somewhere that you can see them and practice them this week! We will take a test on Friday.
A lot of the words come from our story. Two words are capitalized and on the test they need to capitalize those and not any of the others. Capitalization is a writing skill that we are working on this week.

Happy 1st Wednesday of School!
 
This is my first year teaching 2nd grade, last year I was the third grade teacher. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2012, and I was a student at St Paul's! I am so excited to be able to teach with my mom, Mrs. Wilson, the other 2nd grade teacher, and to be with this wonderful class of hard working and kindhearted kids! I have gone home every night with so much excitement to come back the next day!

We have begun to work on some handwriting already and reviewing even and odd numbers like you have seen.
2nd graders should be reading every night for 20 minutes, it's their homework :)
