I have been passionate about vocal music since I was a kid! Singing has always made me happy and I hope to encourage my students to love it too.

I graduated from Viterbo University, a Catholic university in LaCrosse, WI. I earned a degree in K-12 Music Education with a vocal concentrate. I have taught for over 30 years and in 3 different states. I have a wealth of experience having taught High School Choral, Jr. High Choral, MIddle School General Music and Elementary General Music. I presently teach K-4 general music here at St. Paul's Catholic School and work part time.

K-4 music has changed from when I was a student and has continued to change throughout my career. General music consists of singing, movement, Orff instrument and rhythm instrument playing, world music, drumming, music theory, music listening as well as creating and improvisation.

My K-4 Christmas program is a highlight for our parents. I write an original show each year for Christmas and add sacred and secular songs using characters, costumes, instruments…with a big 200 voice finale!

Parents are invited into my music classroom once a year to see what "really" happens in the music class. These classes are not perfected but a demonstration of typical activities I use.

Grade 4 goes on a field trip to "Symphony Day" and as a part of learning all the instruments of the orchestra we also learn to play our own instrument--the recorder! I use Recorder Karate-- a very motivational recorder method.

Every three years grades 2,3,4 attend the ballet, The Nutcracker Suite, at the Adler Theater.

I am the director of music for The St. Paul Players in our yearly musical. The musical is for Grades 5-8 and we usually have 90 to 100 students involved!

In January each year, I direct a 6th Grade Honor Choir and take them to The Tipton Choir Festival.

A new group I started is called Singing Faith. It is made up of 8th graders who lead fun contemporary Christian songs before our Friday School mass.

I am an original founder and member of the Augustana Orff Chapter which offers 4 workshops a year to local music teachers.

I am a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and actively sing in a contemporary group called "With One Voice".

In my private life I have 3 children, Kate, Brian and Andrew and husband Jerry. We love to travel.
