Hello! My name is Rolonda Cabel. I am the KA Kindergarten teacher at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School this year. I am so blessed to be entering my third year as a teacher at this wonderful school. I have been a member of the St. Paul community for many years. My husband, Wayne, and I enrolled our daughter, Katie, over fifteen years ago, and our other daughter, Callie, is currently a student here at SPS. Throughout my extended experience in this lovely Catholic community, I have developed a deep appreciation and respect for this school and church. I am so glad that God has led me to share my teaching abilities with the children and outstanding staff of St. Paul's.
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM:
My husband, Wayne, and I have been married for twenty-eight years. He is the assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at Moline High School. We have two beautiful daughters, Katie (18) and Callie (10). Katie recently graduated from Assumption High School and will be majoring in biomedical engineering at the University of Iowa this fall. Callie will be entering fifth grade this year at SPS and couldn't be more excited. I enjoy going on walks with our dog, Boo-Boo, going to zumba classes, and traveling with my family.
I have an Associate's Degree in general studies from Scott Community College, a BA in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement from St. Ambrose University, and a MA as a K-12 Reading Specialist from Marycrest College. I have also taken additional coursework in gifted education from the University of Iowa and Drake University.
This will be my twenty-third year of teaching. I have taught seventeen years in fourth grade, two years in fifth grade, and three years of gifted education and K-5 academic support.
