Used Uniform Sale
Hello Parents! It is time to start thinking about the Used Uniform Sale. Set up will be from 6 pm-8 pm on Tuesday, July 14th. Anyone who helps on Tuesday, July 14th will get to shop while they set up and get first picks. The sale will be held on Wednesday, July 15th and Wednesday, July 22nd from 8 am-11:30 am and 6-8 pm. The sale will also be held during Unpack Your Backpack Night on Thursday, August 20 from 1:00-5:30 and clean up will be held, in the evening, after Unpack your Backpack. Volunteers needed!!!! Home and School volunteer hours available.
We need your used clothing. Items can also be dropped off to the school now-June 12th. Please text Erin 563-508-2808 if you need to arrange a different time for drop off.
We will sell the following things at the sale: Uniform jumpers and skirts, navy and khaki pants and shorts, polos, SPS/AHS approved sweatshirts, 3/4 zips, sweaters, belts, gym uniforms, SPS and AHS spiritwear. If you want to sell your items please mark each item, on the front of a note card sized paper. Then attach it with a safety pin. Include the following information:

You may donate items, too. All proceeds from donations go to Home and School and directly help our students. Donations can simply be dropped off as is. We also need shoppers! DIOCESE OF DAVENPORT - Marriage & Family Life Coordinator
The Diocese of Davenport is currently looking for a Marriage & Family Life Coordinator that will work in the Faith Formation Department. The position is a full-time, exempt position. The Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination, collaboration, administration, support, and leadership for the parish leaders in areas of marriage and family life for the Diocese. The Coordinator identifies, designs, organizes and implements a process for the development, training, and ongoing accompaniment of leaders with a focus on building parish capacity in marriage preparation, early marriage, family formation, and the full inclusion of and pastoral care of families, especially those with special needs. The coordinator will support pastors, organize family life projects and help carry out the objectives of a strategic plan. A bachelor's degree in theology, religious education or other relevant discipline is required (master's preferred). Parish and pastoral experience in family life ministry is also required. Mrs. VanCamp has gone through all of the lost and found items and put them out on a table in the hallway. If you are missing any items, please stop by to look. Any items left on the last day of school will be donated.

Art Sketchbooks next year
The sketchbooks in Art were wonderful to use this year- Thank you for providing them. They will be coming home this week. Several students used very nice sketchbooks this year and they might be able to reuse them next year.
If your student’s sketchbook has more than 30 clean pages left, the front and back cover AND the spiral are intact and in good condition your student can probably reuse the book for the 26-27 school year. If you'd like to reuse the book next year, just carefully remove the used pages, and clearly mark the student's name and NEW homeroom to the front and bring it back next year.
Of course if your student/s would like to use the sketchbook for drawing over the summer and purchase a new one next year that's an option too. (If you get the school supply kit- sketchbooks are one year usage books.)

While transitions are a natural part of school life, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the teachers and staff members who have given so much to our students, families, and school community. Education is a deeply rewarding profession, but it is also one that requires tireless dedication, patience, compassion, and heart. These educators made a commitment to our students and to the mission of our school, and their impact will continue to be felt long after they leave their current roles. St. Paul the Apostle is a better school and a stronger community because of the time, talent, and love they have shared with us. PRINCIPAL’S PONDERINGS What to Do After Mass? If you were able to join us for school Mass yesterday, you may have noticed a small change in the way our students now conclude Mass. After the final recessional, students will remain in the pews, kneel, and offer a short prayer of thanksgiving before being dismissed. This is a simple addition, but one that carries great meaning. At St. Paul’s, we want our students to continue growing in their understanding that the church is a sacred space and that time spent there should be treated with reverence and care. We also want our children to see prayer not as something reserved only for certain moments, but as a natural and important part of their daily lives. Those final 30 to 60 seconds after Mass provide a beautiful opportunity for just that. In the quiet of the church, students can thank God for the blessings in their lives, ask Him to watch over their families, lift up a special intention, or pray a Hail Mary or an Our Father. While brief, these moments of silence and reflection can have a powerful impact in helping our students build habits of prayer and deepen their relationship with God. It is also important to note that when parents or family members choose to join us for school Mass, our preference is that students remain with their classroom for the entirety of the Mass. School Masses are intended to be a time for classes to worship together as a school community, and remaining with their classmates helps preserve the reverence, structure, and shared experience of the liturgy. Our hope is that these practices help our young people leave Mass not hurried or distracted, but grounded in gratitude and reminded of the presence of God in their lives. It is often in these small, intentional moments that faith begins to take deeper root. Thank you for continuing to support us in helping our students grow not only academically, but also spiritually. PRINCIPAL’S PONDERINGS Daylight Saving Time always feels like the universe decided to prank adults with their responsibilities. One minute you had a routine, a system, a sense of order. The next minute, the clock jumps ahead, and suddenly everyone is expected to act like losing an hour of sleep is no big deal. The kids are confused, the dogs want breakfast at the “old time,” and somehow you are both running late and exhausted at the exact same time. It is especially painful when your whole day depends on a schedule. You wake up feeling like you are lacking sleep, even when you technically did not. Breakfast feels rushed, your brain is buffering, and by mid-morning you are wondering why lunch seems so far away. Then evening comes, and even though the clock says it is time to be productive, your body is convinced it is much later and ready to shut the whole operation down. The strangest part is how everyone pretends we will “adjust in a few days,” as if that is comforting. A few days? That is a long time to be living in survival mode because someone decided the sun and I needed a new arrangement. Daylight Saving Time is basically jet lag without the vacation. Panther Perk drawing for all who participate and an ice cream treat party for the class that raises the most money. Fact: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital maintains 78 inpatient beds and treats upwards of 260 patients each day. We will provide donuts and a place for the kids to hang out between Mass and school. Please consider these special opportunities (not required) to help your child grow in their faith with SPS teachers and community members! Of course, parents are welcome!! Please send them to art with your student before spring break, if you have a couple of empties to spare. ************ Future Club Scholarship St. Paul the Apostle Future Club is offering a scholarship for a graduating high school senior who attended St. Paul the Apostle School, and who is planning to attend a college or university. You must include a typewritten essay entitled “What My Catholic Education Has Meant to Me” (maximum 1,000 words). The Selection Committee will review all applications and essays. The scholarship is not renewable. All applications must be received at SPS by Tuesday, March 31. No late applications will be accepted. I know we have many regular Pathfinders who are in the cast and I would hate for anyone to miss out on our upcoming content. We will come back strong after Spring Break with two meetings in March and April. I am still working on our speaker line up but here are the tentative dates for those months: March 23 & 30 April 13 & 27 May 18—Final Meeting Thank you for your understanding! Soup suppers will be held every Wednesday evening in Denning Hall from February 25 through March 25 at 6:00 PM (following the 5:30 PM Mass). On March 25, our school will be sponsoring the soup supper. If you are providing soup, please: Drop off soups by 5:00–5:15 PM Label your crock pot with your name Take your crock pot home at the end of the evening If possible, include a list of ingredients and any allergens (this is especially helpful for those with allergies or dietary restrictions) Thank you for your generosity and support in making our soup suppers successful! We are looking for parent volunteers to help supervise recess! Having extra adults on the playground helps ensure our students stay safe, supported, and engaged during outdoor play. Volunteering for recess is also a great way to fulfill your required volunteer hours while spending time with our school community. To volunteer, CMG training is required for all school volunteers.
