The Weekly Panther

PRINCIPAL’S PONDERINGS
As the seasons change, we’re reminded of God’s beauty and the many blessings that surround us each day. The vibrant colors of fall mirror the energy and joy within our school, classrooms filled with curiosity, laughter echoing through the halls, and students living out their faith in both big and small ways.
This fall has been full of meaningful moments at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School. From our 5th graders leading the Saints Parade at Mass, to service projects that help others in our community, to lessons that encourage students to see God’s hand in their learning, our students are truly growing in faith, knowledge, and character.
We are grateful for the partnership of our parents, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the spirit of our parish community that makes St. Paul’s such a special place. Together, we are helping our students become the individuals God calls them to be.
There’s no better place to learn, serve, and grow than right here, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School.
-Mr. Connors

WHAT’S NEW
Iowa Alliance for School Choice in Education (ACE)
At St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, we’re committed to providing every child with an exceptional, faith-filled education, and we’re excited to share a fantastic opportunity with you through Iowa ACE.
Iowa ACE is the state’s voice for school choice. Their mission is to ensure that all Iowa families can access and afford the school of their choice through the ESA. This parent group will be fighting to keep the ESAs in Iowa.
By signing up with Iowa ACE, you will:
- Align with a statewide organization advocating for quality education and choice for all students.
- Gain access to resources and tools to support your family’s educational journey.
- Strengthen the community of families who value the same mission of access, excellence, and faith-based learning.
Here’s how to get started:
- Visit www.iowaace.org and click “Parents for Educational Choice – Join Now!” Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education
- Complete the brief sign-up form to become a member of Iowa ACE’s parent network.
- Watch for updates and communications from Iowa ACE and our school about ways you can engage and support our community.
Why this matters:
Every family that signs up strengthens our collective voice. The more engaged our families are in supporting educational choice, the stronger our school community becomes, and the more we can champion the excellence and opportunities we provide here at St. Paul’s.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your partnership means so much to our mission, and together we’re ensuring our Panthers are ready for today, and tomorrow.

ESA and School Choice
Objection: “Private schools aren’t accountable like public schools are.”
Response: At St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, we are committed to maintaining high standards of accountability. As an accredited institution, we adhere to state educational requirements, including standardized testing and accreditation processes. Additionally, many of our students participate in national assessments to monitor academic growth. Ultimately, true accountability lies with the parents: if a school does not meet the needs of its students, families have the freedom to choose another institution, and ESA funds follow the student.
